Why Classes Are Still Getting Renamed

At a glance

Does anyone know why my classes are still getting renamed? In this case I have to remove text-weight-bold, restyle the text, and add back text-weight-bold. Some classes sync and some don't like global padding.

Ive also noticed for the past few days that class sync hasnt been working all the time

Hey Susan & Julian. Thanks for letting us know, I'll raise this internally and we'll get back to you asap. CC

Still happening consistently.

just in case it might be helpful, can you share a read-only link?

are you using the latest chrome browser as well? Just confirming some details here.

Nearly up to date! Relaunch Chrome to finish updating.
Version 119.0.6045.123 (Official Build) (x86_64)
Relaunch

also our developers wanted to know if it was possible that when you initially pasted in components, if maybe class sync was off for some reason? And then you turned it back on and started pasting more elements again.

Most of the class duplications look to be on global classes.

A read-only would give us a bit more insight into what classes are duplicating, and also maybe why.

I inherited this site the CSS is all over the place.

okay, got it. My thoughts are with you on this journey! πŸ€£πŸ™ƒ We've all been there

We are going to rebuild and I will use Client First folders for renaming components from Relume.

yeah once a class duplicates, it wont stop until its fully cleaned up. The fastest way I have found to clean it up is to use the style manager, search for the class, and then use the little list icon/button to navigate to where the classes are - and then copy the class, paste it in, delete the number, and hit enter, and do that over and over and over. I don't really know if any other quicker way really.

Ok! So what would I do once I found the dup (bad!) class?

the little icon tot he left of the wrench

and then if you click on one of the items in that list, it'll take you right to where the element is using that class

text-size-medium 5 can be deleted - since it doesn't have a list icon

so you could also try using the style manager cleanup tool first

Wow, ok. I have my marching orders. That will teach me not to let anything by me in the first place.

This site is so crufty I was copy and pasting like a bandit.

right yeah, watch out for the yellow alert - if you see that just do a quick undo, and identify why that might have happened.

If nothing obvious, I would turn class sync off, refresh the page, turn it back on and refresh the page and then paste in the component again - and if it keeps happening let us know.

Thank you so much for your support. I can't wait for a fresh start on this project.

πŸ™ I hope its soon for you Susan, very soon!

Thanks. I'm looking forward to using the magic in Site builder to get things kicked off.
