Filtering Projects Using Finsweet's CMS Filter to Combine Criteria

At a glance

The community member is using Finsweet's CMS Filter and needs to filter projects by service (photography, web design, advertising) and industry (e.g. Real Estate) using AND logic rather than OR logic. The community members discuss that checkboxes can be used for AND operations, and one community member mentions joining the Finsweet Slack community to find a solution, which involves a "Match Option" that adds AND logic to checkboxes. Another community member offers to help and provides an example of how they have set up similar filters using Relume Filters and Finsweet Attributes. There is no explicitly marked answer, but the community members provide helpful suggestions and resources.

Useful resources

I'm using Finsweet's CMS Filter. I need it filter x AND y, rather than x OR y, if this makes sense. How can I pull this off? Specific examples given below:

I offer different services: photography, web design, and advertising. So I want to filter projects by these, along with the industry served.

For example, if someone from the Real Estate industry Is browsing my site, they should be able to checkbox Real Estate + Photography. Or Real Estate + Web Design.

Or if someone is searching for an all-in-one service provider, they should be able to filter by projects where both Web Design and Photography were provided

Check boxes work for AND operations and radio buttons for OR. Just use check boxes in the form and it should work.

I ended up joining the Finsweet slack community & got an answer! There’s a super easy to implement Match Option that ads AND logic to checkboxes.

Could you send me a link to join the Finsweet slack? I want to figure out if it’s viable for a website I might be migrating over to Webflow

Sorry I don’t think I can invite people since it’s a paid community

Ah okay no worries!

I’m happy to help though if I can! Shoot me a message with what your trying to do

I set these up a lot using Relume Filters and Finsweet Attributes. example: https://www.nhbeekeepers.org/resources. Follow these instructions: https://finsweet.com/attributes/cms-filter

Thanks and , I have just landed the job so should be working on the filter in a month or so. I’ll be in touch with any questions 🙏
