Everyone's approach to image compression

At a glance

What is everyone’s approach to the image compression. Webflow seems to recommend AVIF and is set to the default, but wondering if anyone has run into issues with browser support.?

I noticed all my Opengraph images stopped working with AVIF too, so had update to webp.

man that sucks. Im blown away by the AVIF sompression. its light years ahead of even Webp. but yeah the support has me concerned

Shame you can't select which assets to optimise through the CMS either, would be ideal if we could be selective

Keep OG Images in PNG, JPEG since lot of Socials still not support Newer formats & those images will be not visible. eg: Linkedin

Can you not upload unique opengraph images?

Yeah, I have fields dedicated to opengraph images now but have to educate clients not to use the optimise button because it changes every image.

Annoying workflow but uploading to assets folder first, optimise the ones you want to and keep opengraph separate.

Do you use AVIF for everything else?

I mix it up per project just to test to be honest.
